Description

INTARCON’s ECO2Watt subcritical CO₂ condensing units provide industrial refrigeration for low-temperature commercial and industrial applications. Their cascade technology combines CO₂ (R744) and propane (R290) to maximise energy efficiency and ensure reliable operation. These condensing units offer excellent cooling performance in cold rooms and freezing tunnels.

  • Cascade cycle

The CO₂ cascade cycle with a high-temperature R290 (propane) cycle offers excellent cooling performance in negative temperature applications, such as cold rooms or freezing tunnels.

CONSTRUCTION

  • Compact construction with V-type condensers.
  • Self-supporting casing made of galvanised sheet steel with weatherproof polyester paint.
  • Removable side panels around the entire perimeter.
  • Sealed electrical panel independent from the refrigeration compartment.
  • Emergency unit for R-744 maintenance.

FANS

  • EC electronic fans with speed regulation by proportional control of the condensing pressure.

REFRIGERATION CIRCUIT

  • Subcritical semi-hermetic compressor for negative temperature, with high-pressure switch, Rotalock valves, crankcase heater and electronic oil level control.
  • R-744 cascade circuit with single suction, made of copper tube, equipped with high-pressure R-744 liquid receiver, double safety valve, oil separator-accumulator, particle separator, suction filters, safety pressure switch, filter and liquid sight glass.
  • R-290 circuit made of copper, equipped with oil separator, high- and low-pressure switches, filter drier and liquid sight glass.
  • Capacity modulation by frequency inverter (INVERTER) on one compressor.
  • Instrumentation panel with pressure gauges, built-in electrical panel with residual current and thermalmagnetic protection for each element.
  • High-temperature refrigeration circuit made of copper, equipped with oil separator, high- and low-pressure switches, filter drier and liquid sight glass.
  • Double plate heat exchanger for R-744 condensation, sized at 70% of the heat rejection capacity, with gravity circulation. With shut-off valve, solenoid valve and expansion valve.
  • Plate heat exchanger for liquid subcooling.

SECURITY

  • ATEX fans for continuous ventilation of the refrigeration compartment.
  • Leak detector with audible-visual alarm.
  • Trip coil for cutting off the power supply line to electrical components located in the refrigeration compartment.
  • Emergency unit for cooling the R-744 during maintenance when out of service, or in the event of critical failure or power failure.
  • Independent electrical supply for the extraction fan and leak detector, with residual current and thermalmagnetic protection.

COIL

  • Copper microtube and aluminium fin coil.

ELECTRICAL PANEL AND CONTROL

  • Electronic controller for control of the R290-CO₂ cascade system with single suction setpoint.

CONSTRUCTION

  • Silentblocks for unit installation. (Accessories)

FANS

  • Radial fans with vertical discharge.
  • AxiTop® diffuser(s) on condenser fan(s).

REFRIGERATION CIRCUIT

  • Change to optional Bitzer.

COIL

  • Polyurethane anti-corrosion coating for copper microtube and aluminium fin coil..
  • Anti-corrosion treatment for copper microtube and Alucoast® fin coil.
  • Aqua Aero® anti-corrosion coating for copper microtube and fin coil.
