Les incendies provoqu\u00e9s par de vieilles installations avec de mauvais contacts, un mauvais c\u00e2blage ou la coexistence d&#8217;appareils \u00e9lectroniques o\u00f9 une petite diode ou un petit condensateur peut tomber en panne, sont le sc\u00e9nario courant que nous voyons chaque semaine dans les journaux t\u00e9l\u00e9vis\u00e9s d&#8217;un incendie catastrophique.<\/p><hr class=\"reader-divider-block__horizontal-rule\" \/><h3 id=\"ember6033\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Qu&#8217;est-ce que les AFDD et en quoi diff\u00e8rent-ils des autres dispositifs ?<\/h3><p id=\"ember6034\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Un <strong>AFDD<\/strong> (Arc Fault Detection Device) est un dispositif con\u00e7u pour d\u00e9tecter des mod\u00e8les sp\u00e9cifiques d&#8217;arcs dangereux, soit en s\u00e9rie (\u00e0 l&#8217;int\u00e9rieur d&#8217;un c\u00e2ble endommag\u00e9), soit en parall\u00e8le (entre conducteurs). Ces arcs ne g\u00e9n\u00e8rent pas suffisamment de courant pour d\u00e9clencher un disjoncteur ou un disjoncteur diff\u00e9rentiel, mais ils peuvent provoquer des incendies.<\/p><h4 id=\"ember6035\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Comparaison avec les dispositifs traditionnels :<\/h4><ol><li><strong>Disjoncteurs (MCB)<\/strong> : ils agissent contre les surcharges et les courts-circuits. Ils ne d\u00e9tectent pas les arcs \u00e9lectriques en s\u00e9rie ou en parall\u00e8le qui ne d\u00e9passent pas leur limite de courant.<\/li><li><strong>Disjoncteurs \u00e0 courant diff\u00e9rentiel r\u00e9siduel (DDR) :<\/strong> ils fonctionnent en cas de courants de fuite \u00e0 la terre et prot\u00e8gent contre les contacts indirects et l&#8217;\u00e9lectrocution. Ils ne sont pas sensibles aux d\u00e9fauts d&#8217;arc qui n&#8217;impliquent pas de fuite \u00e0 la terre.<\/li><li><strong>AFDD :<\/strong> d\u00e9tecte les arcs \u00e9lectriques dangereux en analysant le signal de courant, d\u00e9connectant le circuit avant que la chaleur g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9e ne provoque un incendie.
