In this second instalment, we focus on a fundamental aspect: <strong data-start=\"388\" data-end=\"433\">heat recovery in industrial refrigeration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"436\" data-end=\"854\">In every refrigeration system, the heat extracted from the product or ambient air must be released outdoors through condensation. Traditionally, this heat has been treated as waste and dissipated via cooling towers or air condensers. However, from the perspective of energy efficiency and the circular economy, this heat becomes a valuable resource that can be reused to meet other thermal demands within the facility.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"861\" data-end=\"920\"><strong data-start=\"865\" data-end=\"920\">Heat recovery potential in industrial refrigeration<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"922\" data-end=\"1069\">The thermal energy available in the condensation circuit typically represents between <strong data-start=\"1008\" data-end=\"1054\">125% and 135% of the total energy absorbed<\/strong> by the system.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1071\" data-end=\"1325\">In practical terms, this means that an industrial refrigeration plant can fully cover its <strong data-start=\"1161\" data-end=\"1189\">domestic hot water (DHW)<\/strong> requirements, as well as <strong data-start=\"1215\" data-end=\"1232\">space heating<\/strong> or <strong data-start=\"1236\" data-end=\"1282\">low- to medium-temperature process heating<\/strong>, essentially at no additional energy cost.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1327\" data-end=\"1430\">Below, we outline the <strong data-start=\"1349\" data-end=\"1377\">most common applications<\/strong> and the <strong data-start=\"1386\" data-end=\"1402\">key benefits<\/strong> of efficient heat recovery.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1437\" data-end=\"1465\">Typical heat recovery applications<\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"1467\" data-end=\"1893\">\n<li data-start=\"1467\" data-end=\"1525\">\n<p data-start=\"1469\" data-end=\"1525\">Production of DHW for cleaning or other process needs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1526\" data-end=\"1607\">\n<p data-start=\"1528\" data-end=\"1607\">Support to heat pumps to achieve higher temperatures for demanding processes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1608\" data-end=\"1650\">\n<p data-start=\"1610\" data-end=\"1650\">Heating of offices or adjacent spaces.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1651\" data-end=\"1735\">\n<p data-start=\"1653\" data-end=\"1735\">Replacement or supplementation of gas boilers, reducing fossil fuel consumption.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1736\" data-end=\"1823\">\n<p data-start=\"1738\" data-end=\"1823\">Defrosting of evaporators without electric heaters, cutting peak electrical demand.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1824\" data-end=\"2667\">A <strong data-start=\"2341\" data-end=\"2386\">10,000 m\u00b2 refrigerated logistics platform<\/strong> can recover enough condensation heat to cover <strong data-start=\"2433\" data-end=\"2458\">100% of its DHW needs<\/strong>, provide <strong data-start=\"2468\" data-end=\"2510\">heating for offices and changing rooms<\/strong>, perform <strong data-start=\"2520\" data-end=\"2545\">evaporator defrosting<\/strong> without additional electrical input, and even <strong data-start=\"2592\" data-end=\"2612\">heat floor areas<\/strong> at doorways and loading bays to prevent ice formation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2669\" data-end=\"2844\">This eliminates the need for gas boilers, reduces safety risks, and enables <strong data-start=\"2745\" data-end=\"2811\">annual
